THE PROJECT
A global universal bank manages its real estate portfolio and all related investment funds with software that is approaching the end of its life cycle. Many run-the-bank activities and system enhancements are carried out by external software specialists due to their longstanding and specialised knowledge of the programming languages used.
The bank decided to proactively address the high dependency by documenting the daily activities of the software specialists. The aim was to reduce operational risk and be prepared in the event that the software specialists were no longer available.
OUR CONTRIBUTION
abaQon was asked to accompany the employees of the external software provider, document their daily activities and create an operating manual. The aim was to ensure that key business processes could continue after a potential service interruption by the external party. Our broad and deep technical expertise combined with a lean approach (minimal disruption to daily business) enabled us to deliver a comprehensive manual in just 4 weeks.
