Having started his consulting career in 2005, Manuel has led and delivered dozens of projects in Switzerland, the UK and Asia. While his banking expertise covers many wealth management, client lifecylce and compliance related topics, he is known for his conceptual talent, his ability to lead large teams through complex and demanding programs and his expertise in recovering troubled projects in the role of a turnaround manager. He is always curious about the latest technology trends and to have a hand in the code himself.

For more than 15 years, Philippe has supported projects of private banks, retail banks and global asset managers. As a member of programme management, project manager or stream lead, he leads teams in both functional and technically dominated setups. For several years, he has focused on API-related developments and the paradigm shift in bank’s technical architectures, combined with the practical challenges of agile development methods. His approach is always holistic and hands-on, because that’s his passion (although he can also design pretty nice slide packs…).

For more than 15 years, Daniele leads strategic IT/Business initiatives and projects in the financial industry. From classic banking projects, conception of hybrid advisory journeys, evaluation of future-proof technologies, to realization of complex sourcing strategies. Daniele’s home turf is wherever technology unlocks new potential or gains a boost in efficiency. Whether as project manager, enterprise architect or as coach. His broad expertise, extensive methodological skills and ability to familiarize himself quickly within new structures, Daniele acts on all levels to ensure your projects success.

Throughout his 15+ year consulting track record in Switzerland, Europe and the UK, Martin has worn many hats such as BPO turnaround manager, IT lead of a multinational core banking implementation or as a test and migration lead for a real estate management platform. Despite these large-scale management assignments, he continues to express his profound enthusiasm and passion in getting behind banking’s buzz, often getting down to nuts, bolts and screws and therefore actively helps our clients to deliver on time and quality.

Since starting his first banking project in 2013, Robert has contributed to several national and international projects dealing with topics such as portfolio management, payments or compliance and data protection. Our clients value Robert’s ability to digest complex problems quickly and present them in a simple, solution-oriented way, as well as his approach to work as a leader for project delivery. Robert supports our clients as a project manager, scrum master, business analyst or when needed as an experienced developer.

Since his first consulting engagement over 10 years ago, Christian has supported a wide variety of projects with passion and commitment. From Avaloq parameterization, process modeling, automated testing, to project management, Christian feels at home in all areas. However, his main focus is on client lifecycle management as well as compliance, where he has already successfully brought several projects to the finish line as project manager or lead developer. His strong analytical skills coupled with his pragmatic approach are the key to successful project completion.

During more than 10 years as consultant in the financial industry, Roland has successfully implemented various projects. Whether as project manager for a core-banking-system migration or the development of a digital customer portal. The complexity of today’s front-oriented processes is a language Roland speaks fluently. His experience on all levels, from the definition of wealth-management pricing schemes to the implementation of retail client lifecycles, makes him not only a valuable asset in our current projects but a key player in our constant strive for innovation.

Roger transforms emerging technologies into specific added business value by means of his 23 years of experience in business and technology. Furthermore, as a business information scientist, he builds bridges between business and IT. With his leadership experience and CRM background he strategically, despite his enthusiasm for technology, keeps the big picture in mind.

Despite her love for numbers, Sabine is not a fan of half-measures. Since joining consulting in 2017, she has already implemented numerous projects in highly regulated topics such as data protection, client onboarding, due diligence and AML. Her background as a mathematician helps her define and maintain a logical model of integrity along the way from vision to solution. From journey design to determining a cross-system solution architecture to development, she is enthusiastic and tenacious for any challenge.

Thanks to his many years of business and IT project management experience in the banking environment as well as in public administration, Tim understands how to focus the various stakeholders on the project benefits. Whith his expertise in the areas of mobile payments, credit/debit cards and digital onboarding his interdisciplinary approach enables companies to master procedural and organizational challenges. His pragmatic way of tackling complex problems coupled with his solution-oriented way of thinking have always helped him to bring customer projects to a successful conclusion.

In his professional and academic career to date, Jürg has focused on process and cost optimization using predictive modeling. He learned the conceptual and practical development of data models & software applications to optimize and automate complex business processes. He now uses his technical and strategic skills to develop new services and optimize existing ones. He faces complex problems with great enthusiasm and never hesitates to go the “extra mile” to find unconventional, yet optimal solutions.

With several years of experience building AI/machine learning applications and working on several large-scale software projects as a full-stack software engineer, Mathias is perfectly equipped to deal with our technological world and in particular the emergence of commercial AI systems. His extensive technical background has honed his analytical skills. This allows him to quickly adapt to different scenarios and problems. With almost a decade of teaching experience, he is also able to break down complex concepts and problems into understandable and manageable parts.

Breaking down complex systems into simple parts without losing the overall thread has always been a fascination of Jonas. During his broad study of physics, ranging from quantum field theory and general relativity to differential geometry and astrophysics, this fascination became a well-developed skill. Already in his first project testing a complete real estate management program he was succesfully able to demonstrate this aptitude and skill. His programming skills combined with conceptual know-how make him a valuable asset in any team.

Whether developing software architectures to control four-legged robots or coaching teams in product development, Jan always impresses with careful planning and implementation. He uses his quick grasp to break down complex problems analytically and solve them step by step. His curiosity helps him to venture into unknown areas full of motivation until he has mastered them. Jan uses these skills in the API design and development team of abaQon with a lot of verve and innovative drive.

Throughout his Mechanical engineering studies at ETH, Thomas learned to devise simple solutions to complex problems in a wide spectrum of fields. His passion for emerging technologies drove him to peruse projects in bioengineering, machine learning and robotics, combining hands on IT with mathematical theory to develop powerful tools. He now applies these skills in the analysis, implementation and validation of customized client solutions and never shys away from compelling challenges and new learning opportunities.

Fanny’s curiosity convinced her to pursue a field of study that is applicable to as many domains as possible when she was choosing her academic path. Whether in medicine or the financial industry, Fanny always strives to understand challenges at their core and develop new solutions for them. To do this, she structures each question precisely and an in depth so that ultimately all factors are taken into account, while always keeping the customer benefit at the centre of her attention.

Since her studies, Anna has focused on process automation and digitalization. Due to her experience in controlling and stakeholder-oriented reporting, she has a solid understanding of how innovative technologies can be used to build new business models. As a motivated and dedicated personality, Anna has already implemented data-driven change processes and blockchain applications in other industries. At abaQon, she convinces clients in the financial industry with her competencies and brings a breath of fresh air to every project with her open-minded nature.

Since studying as a mechanical engineer, Matthias has learned that the automation of processes requires not only specialist knowledge, but also creative ideas, innovative approaches and a lot of assertiveness. Whether it is the navigation of autonomous robots, the development of modern transport options, the planning of medical operations or the digitalization of financial systems, Matthias masters projects of all kinds through his ability to precisely identify problems, efficiently analyze data and present and implement optimizations in a pointed manner.

Fabian already learned how to apply modern computer science concepts to complex systems during his interdisciplinary bachelor’s degree in computational physics. The simulation of solar systems or the programming of microcontrollers for a laser-based “asteroids” are just two examples of projects in which he was able to apply what he had learned. In his Master’s degree, he deepened his knowledge of programming concepts, computer architectures and intelligent machines. His specialisation in planning algorithms helps him to think ahead, and his quick grasp and enthusiasm help him to apply new technologies and make them profitable.

For Tobias, chaos is not a nuisance, but a challenge that he embraces with enthusiasm. His degree in mathematics taught him how to find patterns and quantify randomness. To bring order to the wide web, Tobias has worked extensively on authentication and authorisation of users in IT systems. These skills, combined with his quick wit and a pinch of mischief, guarantee solutions that surprise and inspire.

Jason’s passion for developing new systems was ignited during his mechanical engineering studies with a focus on process engineering and automation. His curiosity and passion for challenges drive him to continually learn new technologies, whether it is designing advanced machinery or creating bespoke software solutions to automate operational processes. He uses his expertise and ability to develop innovative approaches to create efficient solutions. Jason’s proactive communication and customer-focused approach ensures seamless collaboration and optimal results.

With a passion for strategic issues and disruptive technologies, Livio is committed to actively shaping the future of the financial sector. In doing so, he draws on diverse experience across industries such as pharma, real estate and legal, which enables him to look at problems from a holistic perspective and come up with creative solutions. As a co-founder of several start-ups, Livio has been able to demonstrate his fascination with creating value through courage and innovation.

Rathes combines in-depth financial knowledge with comprehensive mathematical expertise. After a successful apprenticeship in the banking world, where he gained valuable insights into financial processes, he deepened his knowledge of mathematics and specialised in quantitative network science. This unique combination of practical experience and in-depth theoretical knowledge enables him to analyse complex systems precisely and efficiently. His experience in the financial sector and his analytical thinking make him a versatile consultant who offers well thought-out solutions in IT and finance.

During his bachelor’s and two master’s degrees, Janick discovered his fascination with business development through the use of innovative technologies. Since then, he has worked at the intersection of business and IT, successfully bridging the gap between these two poles. He has developed this passion in various roles in the banking, insurance and industrial sectors. He added value by developing and deploying artificial intelligence, automation and business intelligence solutions. In addition, he continuously trained in agile project management and took on various tasks in this area.

It is Lisa’s greatest talent and expertise to make the day-to-day work of the abaQon management and team easier. From coordinating appointments and organizing events to recruiting – she is the internal “air traffic controller” who always keeps an eye on all the details. Lisa has a diverse experience in the banking and investment world, after having worked at a FinTech company for years. In these roles, she supported managers and teams in all organizational and administrative matters.

Stefan’s track record in the financial services industry spans more than 20 years. He is an expert in technical topics such as functional architecture and data modeling as well as in the operational management of mergers and acquisitions in the banking environment. Stefan is a founding partner of abaQon AG. He retired from operational management in 2021, but continues to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors and consultant for executives and technical specialists.
